Lauderhill Family Loses Two Children to COVID-19 Days Apart – NBC 6 South Florida

A Lauderhill household remains in mourning after
losing two kids to the novel coronavirus just days apart.

Byron and Mychaela had underlying health conditions.

Over the period of 11 days, both Byron and
Mychaela Francis coped the virus before unfortunately passing away.

“Wear y all masks. Be mindful. Be safe out there. Take it seriously,” Hicks said.

Mychaela required oxygen, her blood pressure
dropped and she eventually lost a kidney.

A week later on, while mourning the loss of
Byron, Mychaela went to the healthcare facility after she began having headaches and
fevers.

On June 27th, Hicks states her 20-year-old
boy, Byron, had difficulty breathing.

, everything simply went to breaking down in her body,” Hicks stated.

Records revealed the kid had other medical conditions such as heart problem, epilepsy, spastic paralysis and asthma.

Byron was hurried to the hospital where he
later died.

” As the days went by, while she was [at the medical facility], everything simply went to breaking down in her body,” Hicks stated.

Montete says she has 4 other kids shes wishing to safeguard from the infection. She wants everybody to stay safe.

She passed away this previous Wednesday.

” Having to prepare two funerals is actually tough,”
Montete Hicks, mother of Byron and Mychaela, stated.

Both Byron and Mychaelas deaths are part of
a larger recent pattern in Florida– with younger people in the state contracting
COVID at a higher rate.

On Thursday, Broward Countys medical examiners workplace confirmed that an 11-year old woman had passed away of coronavirus– the youngest death in the state.

” I pertained to look at him. He was in the living
space on the floor staying up. He was sleeping, but he was breathing really
inadequately,” Hicks stated.

“Wear y all masks. Take care. Be safe out there. Take it seriously,” Hicks said.
