HOUSTON, Texas– When 14-year-old Isaiah Garcia dominated his mothers body at her funeral previously this month, he thought it was the hardest thing he would do.
Two weeks later, his father passed away, too.

” Dying now is more tragic than it was in the past because you pass away alone. You pass away alone, without your family members,” stated Marquez-Mendoza.
The family has actually established a GoFundMe to assist with the boys living costs, as they try to deal with their own unthinkable loss.
” We had not even started to grieve my daughter and now we have to bury Carlos, and the grandchildren are left without a dad and a mommy,” stated Marquez-Mendoza. “This illness is just horrible.”
Garcias funeral service is next Wednesday at The Promise Church of Houston.

” I didnt get to bid farewell to my mom or my papa now, whichs what hurt me the most right now,” Garcia stated.
His mother, 39-year-old Naomi Esquivel, passed away on July 2 from COVID-19, according to her mother Rita Marquez-Mendoza.
Carlos Garcia, 44, Naomis husband of 24 years, attended her funeral service with their 2 kids, Isaiah and 11-year-old Nathan.
Garcia was recovering from the infection when he was hospitalized for kidney failure. On July 17, he was found unresponsive and died from oxygen deprivation, according to Marquez-Mendoza. Like Naomi, who was hospitalized just a day, the end came quickly.
” He had actually just talked to his child at 11 oclock. They pronounced him dead at 12:24,” said Jacob Mendoza, the kids uncle, a dad of four, who will now raise the kids. “I like them with all my heart and I understand this is what their parents wouldve desired was for me take them in.”
” At least, given that he (my dad) passed, we get to be with our family,” said Isaiah. “We dont need to go to an orphanage or anything. I d rather be here than anywhere else today.”
Both moms and dads, who had hidden health conditions, were alone when they died. It is the truth of COVID-19 that weighs on Naomis mother.
