Vaccine put to final test with 30,000 Americans – Times of India

New York City: One of the very first large research studies of security and efficiency of a vaccine in the US started on Monday, according to the National Institutes of Health and the biotech business Moderna, which teamed up to establish the vaccine. The study, a Phase 3 scientific trial, is to enroll 30,000 healthy individuals at about 89 sites around the nation. Half will get 2 shots of the vaccine, 28 days apart, and half will get 2 shots of a saltwater placebo. “Were positive that the vaccine will work,” Moderna president Stephen Hoge said.
