4,735 COVID cases added in Alabama, hospitalizations top 2,100 and deaths above 4,000 – AL.com

Coronavirus numbers in Alabama continue to surge.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s Dec. 10 10 a.m. numbers show the state has had 284,922 COVID-10 cases since March with 4,735 added since yesterday. The new numbers reflect a backlog of about 470 cases recorded from Oct. 5-Dec. 7.

The state added 49 deaths – some dating back several weeks – bringing its total to 4,034.

ADPH reported 2,111 COVID hospitalizations yesterday, another record high. ADPH reports 174,805 Alabamians have recovered from the virus.
