Publix cancels COVID-19 vaccine scheduling event for Wednesday – WPBF West Palm Beach

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH, I’M MARK KELLY WITH YOUR NEWS TO GO THE MARTIN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL BE GIVING US AN UPDATE ON THE COVID-19 VACCINE AT A BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING THAT SET FOR THIS MORNING NOW CURRENTLY ABOUT 42 PERCENT OF SENIORS IN THE COUNTY ARE VACCINATED AND HEALTH LEADERS THERE IN THE COUNTY PLAN TO DISCUSS HOW TO GET THE VACCINE TO NOW UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. SO THAT MEETING STARTS 9:00 THIS MORNING AT THE BLAKE LIBRARY ALSO HAPPENING TODAY INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SAID TO CONTINUE DISTRIBUTING COVID VACCINES THE COUNTY DOING A VACCINE CLINIC EVERY DAY THIS WEEK. IN FACT TODAY TWO HUNDRED DOSES ARE SAID TO BE DISTRIBUTED NOW APPOINTMENTS ARE BOOKED THROUGH THE COUNTY’S WAITLIST SYSTEM. MEANWHILE VACCINE SHIPMENTS ARE REPORTEDLY BEING DELAYED NOW BECAUSE THE SEVERE WEATHER IN OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY ACCORDING THE PALM BEACH POST COUNTY HEALTH DIRECTOR DR. LIN ALONSO SAYING THIS DELAY WOULD NOT IMPACT THOSE GETTING THEIR SECOND DOSE OR THOSE WHO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SET UP WITH PUBLICS, BUT IT’S STILL NOT CLEAR HOW LONG THE DELAY IS GOING TO LAST NOW.
